Infocus has declared that it will launch India’s first Aadhaar-enabled iris smartphone. The smartphone will cost Rs 12,000 and as per predictions sales may start on next year’s beginning. Infocus is also planning to launch more smartphones with Aadhar integration.
Infocus says that it had been awarded STQC (Standardization Testing & Quality Certification) from Government of India. The company won this STQC for its Aadhar-enabled iris smartphone. In this year Samsung also launched its Galaxy Tab with iris scanner feature. The tab cost Rs 13,499.
Basically, Aadhar-enabled smartphone is linked to user’s Aadhar number.The Aadhar number contains the biometric details of that user. That means now your smartphone will be linked to your biometrics details as it is linked to your Aadhar number.

InFocus India Country Head Sachin Thapar told PTI, “InFocus smartphone features IriTech’s superior iris image quality assessment and onboard K7 generation algorithm to provide good quality images and avoid false positives while maximizing true positive identification rates.”
InFocus Aadhaar-enabled Iris smartphone features a 4.5-inch display coupled with a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory, microSD card support (up to 64GB) and a 2,300mAh battery life. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop.
