According to the report of The Verge China’s Zheijiang University research shows that “How hackers can use Siri Alexa and Google Now to hack your smartphone?”
According to the researchers, Hackers tricked the owner of the smartphone by the help of sound that is inaudible to a human ear. “DolphinAttack” this name to this trick is has been given by researchers it uses ultrasonic frequencies to mimic commands like “Hey Siri”, “Alexa” and perform various actions.
According to the researchers, DolphinAttack can do anything on your smartphone like Google now turn on airplane mode or Siri to initiate a FaceTime call. And hackers can also open malicious or virus enabled websites in your phones through the Voice Assistant. Hackers can give financially damage to the victim because PayPal and some other money transferring sites support the Voice commands to send money.
How To Protect Yourself from the “Dolphin Attack”?
The best way to protect yourself from DolphinAttack is to turn off the waking phrases of the Voice Assistant.
In iOS devices, you can go to Settings > General > Siri and turn off “Allow Hey Siri”. And in Android phones, you can open the Google app, tap Menu Settings from the top left, select Voice “Ok Google” detection and turn it off.
